MCAT Study Schedule and Practice Tips
The MCAT is long and demanding, so a steady schedule works better than last-minute cramming.
Split your time
- Content review for the science foundations: chemical and physical, biological and biochemical, and psychological, social and biological.
- Daily Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills (CARS) practice, even if only one passage.
- Regular practice sets to apply what you reviewed.
Practice CARS often
CARS is a reading skill. You build it over weeks by reading carefully, finding the author's main point and checking each answer against the passage.
Review every mistake
For each wrong answer, note whether the cause was missing content, rushing, or misreading. Each cause needs a different fix.
Build stamina
Gradually lengthen your practice sessions so the real exam does not feel like a surprise.
