125th PCSA: CSC Calls on Government Workers to Donate Blood and Save Lives
The Civil Service Commission (CSC) is inviting government employees across the country to join a nationwide bloodletting campaign this September 2025, one of the highlight activities of the 125th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA).
The initiative, organized in partnership with the Department of Health–Philippine Blood Center, Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital and Sanitarium, and supported by local government units nationwide, is more than just a health activity. It’s a call for public servants to embody the values of compassion, service, and bayanihan.
According to the CSC, the project aims to boost hospital blood supply while reminding government workers of their role as “Lingkod Bayani”—civil servants who put people first.
A Celebration of Service
With the theme “Bawat Kawani, Lingkod Bayani: Puso, Dangal, at Galing Para sa Bayan”, this year’s PCSA emphasizes patriotism, accountability, and integrity.
CSC Chairperson Atty. Marilyn B. Yap said the bloodletting activity reflects the guiding principle “Bayan muna, bayan ang una”. She encouraged civil servants to extend both “heart and hand” by helping patients who need life-saving blood donations.

Why This Drive Matters
Blood donation saves lives. Each bag of blood can benefit multiple patients—whether they are accident victims, mothers giving birth, or patients undergoing surgery. For government workers, this initiative is also a chance to live out the core values of civil service:
- Volunteerism – Going beyond daily office duties
- Compassion – Helping fellow Filipinos in critical times
- Patriotism – Serving the country in a very direct way
Quick Tips for First-Time Donors
If you’re donating blood for the first time, here are some reminders:
- Get enough rest the night before.
- Eat a healthy meal (avoid fatty food).
- Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated.
- Bring a valid ID and government employee ID.
- Wear comfortable clothing with sleeves that can be rolled up.
Final Thoughts
The bloodletting drive during the 125th PCSA is more than just a health campaign—it is a living testament of the heart of public service. By donating blood, civil servants not only save lives but also inspire a culture of bayanihan and selflessness in government.
